A Canadian Journey of Friendship, Fun and the Prophetic
by Cindy Winegarden
It was fun; it was intense. As six Canadians made the trek “across the pond” to the UK, expectations were high. The purpose of the trip was to attend the Call of the Wild (COTW) Intensive in Wales, but we knew it would be much more than that.
It was meeting people face-to-face whom we’d only talked to via Zoom, excitingly hugging friends we’d made from Stuck2Struck and COTW, getting to know new-found friends from all over the UK (and the Netherlands!), seeing Invictus mentors and leaders in person – some for the first time – and experiencing “Clayton hospitality.” (Thank you Heather and Matthew for housing all the Canadians in your beautiful home, and for hosting the Intensive.)
Judy Pichette, one of Invictus Prophetic Canda’s leaders and a year one COTW participant, had this to say:
“I was excited and looking forward to finally meet in person the people I had gotten to know on zoom. I was not disappointed. Sharing meals, worshipping together and listening to their prophetic words brought an even closer connection with them. I greatly appreciate their encouragement through the prophetic words that were shared. I am a much better person for this. Thank you to my new friends.”
Many of us began the day at 7 a.m. with prayer. Following breakfast, we began our Intensive with worship and teaching. COTW participants each had a time to share prophetic words. Along with deep call-to-action words for countries, churches and peoples, we had prophetic dancing, poems, stories and a butterfly activation. There were times of deliverance and times of dancing for joy.
“Even though I am not part of COTW, I did travel to Wales with Judy,” said Rick Pichette, who is also a leader with Invictus Prophetic Canada. “As for me, the part that touched me the most was the morning prayer time and the worship. When everyone shared what the Lord is doing in their lives, now that took me up to the next level. The prophetic words that people received was very powerful and encouraging. Sometime these situations will cause me to seek the Lord for more. All I can say is well done everyone, well done.”
After the three, very full days, four Canadian travelled back to London by train, navigated the extremely confusing tube line and settled into their five-story-walk-up hotel to begin exploring the sights of the city. Highlights of our 48 hours in London included: creamed tea and scones, the crowds at Buckingham palace (yes, we did see the changing of the guards and the palace, but the crowds were crazy), a river cruise down the Thames, creamed tea and scones, the market at Greenwich Village, pasties at the Euston tube station, fish and chips at the pub, and (did I say?) creamed tea and scones.
Our other two Canadian friends remained in Wales to visit and relax. They had the opportunity to deepen relationship and spend time with Invictus leaders.
Thank you to Invictus Prophetic Global, Rebecca, Heather, Steven and everyone else who was part of our time in Wales. And a special thank you to Sinead (Cathy Valentine’s daughter) whose amazing presence added so much to our Intensive.
Until the next time…
