Aberdeen

by Nicola Robson

In March, a small group from the Invictus Prophetic Global Team had the absolute joy of travelling to Aberdeen in Scotland to meet with Phil Sanderson and the amazing River Church. It was a long way and we all got very close —in more ways than one with five of us in the car.

For two days, we sat with Phil as he taught on a wide range of interlinked subjects: a deep dive into the atonement, including historical and cultural perspectives, an exploration of the Biblical views of principalities, the Council of God, and the church, as well as deeply impactful stories from our persecuted family.

The standout in all of this for me was the broader explanation of the concept of Ekklesia, grounding it in Jesus’ Biblical understanding rather than just the Roman concept. The depth of meaning is really transformative, expanding the idea of church to include a revelatory, holy, worshipping legislative, militarily powerful, priesthood council in session —not a community centre.

Our evenings were spent with the River Church community: dinner with Phil and family, a combined worship evening and then dinner with the River Church Prophetic Fountain (follow

Fountain Ministries on Facebook to find out more). Finally, we joined with the church family on Sunday morning to be part of an awesome demonstration of Ekklesia in session. The Lord is reinvigorating His church in Aberdeen for sure!

It was intense and powerful time together. There was fun in the everyday conversations and meals together, and profound encounter in the worship, teaching, and prophecy! It was such a privilege to be part of this time together. A special, massive thanks to Phil and River Church for hosting us and to Heather Clayton for chauffeuring us around.
