Testimony from Yvonne Woods, Invictus Prophetic Canada

Way back in time, I had an Isaiah 6 experience with the Lord as He called me to be His spokesperson. In my naivety, I cried back, “Send me, send me!”, little realizing what that meant. I had no understanding that He was calling me out as a prophet. With tears flowing, I promised to be faithful and obedient.

Well, that didn’t last long. I will never forget while praying with my pastor, I saw an anchor on a ship being lifted out of deep water and the ship was freed. It moved away from the dock and sailed into the vast ocean. My pastor’s face shone as his eyes were focussed on the sun. It was a beautiful and encouraging vision. And then it happened, his eyes lowered off the sun and the ship not only crashed but sank. In fear and panic, I changed the ending of that vision to one that was more palatable. I left and wept in my disobedience with a truly repentant heart.

In that moment, I felt the fear of the Lord in a way I had not been taught. It was not in a harsh, judgmental, scary way, but in complete brokenness. I was sick to my stomach finding it difficult to believe that I had betrayed Him so easily and had grieved His heart.

Breaking His heart has become my fear of the Lord. I once again promised to be obedient to the best that I am able, being fully aware of how difficult that would be. No matter how messy I was, God didn’t give up on me and used me to reveal the sin and strongholds that held the church captive. In His mercy and grace, He gave ample opportunity for repentance and freedom. Unfortunately, in that church, they were unable to recover and within a few years the ship ‘sank’.

To be honest, this hardened my heart towards the church. I started to attend church again, but only because my kids were going. As I sat in church one day, arms crossed and completely rebellious, God began to reveal to me the things that were deep in hearts of the person I had fixed my eyes on. I saw the treasures He had given them and how their ‘life’ situations kept them buried under their brokenness.

He did this Sunday after Sunday and He broke my heart for His church, His bride, one person at a time. I began to fathom the depth of His enormous love for His church and I became passionate about His church, His people. My heart posture reversed drastically. I became a different person while still being imperfect and falling short. It still amazes me how God chooses to use us, imperfect people, to fulfill His purpose. He doesn’t give up on us and continues to pursue us with His unrelenting Love.

Love, obedience, and my longing for purity have become the essence of who I am. I am passionate about others to not only be drawn into a relationship of deep intimacy with Jesus but to fulfill the plan He has for their lives. Jeremiah 15:19-21 was spoken over me many years ago and has become embedded in my heart. ‘And if you extract the precious from the worthless, you will become My spokesman.’ Each of us has a different story. This is a glimpse into mine of who I am and what I bring to the table of the Invictus team.

We invite you to sit at the table with us where relationships and friendships are formed. A place where Jesus will expose the golden nuggets He has placed deep within your heart that have either never been recognized or quenched by the enemy. We recognize that no two nuggets are the same yet they are all precious and unique. We all need His purifying fire of Love to strip away all that is not His desire, all the things that entice our eyes away from Him.

Let’s be sharpened together, fine tuned to speak His truth without compromise. Then, our prophecy will have a fresh sound as the words flow from the heart of the Father. He will turn the brokenness to wholeness. This desire of purity and holiness will begin to break the walls of division in us, in our churches, and in our land. The Groom is preparing His bride. All are welcome to this place of discovery and challenge.

“Come!” say the Spirit and the Bride. Whoever hears, echo, “Come!”
Is anyone thirsty? Come! All who will, come and drink, Drink freely of the Water of Life!
